This is a resurrected diskette catalog which can be used with the .tar (.imd  imagedisk in future) and
unpacked directories to locate the Cromemco files of your choice

Since diskettes and MFM hard disks can only last so long the general idea is to move all the contents of these
diskettes onto PC Hard disk storage for longterm retention.

All non personal files are then copied to our website

The code is painstakingly transferred using the PCOM program over a serial RS232 link at 9600 baud



PCOM  download rate 134 blocks download per minute on a DPU 8MHz 68000 system
Download rate using pckt.bin on a 68020 250 , 16MHz 68020 system is about double that
PCOM uploads fail/are not reliable unless the target Cromemco is very fast, it does not work on my XPU system only on the XXU system even if the target is a ramdisk.  To transfer files to a Cromemco then best to use cscopy on cromemco to read a 360K IBM formatted diskette

Diskette images containing /dev entries are imaged twice since ftar -cuv in UNIX format does not save device files. So in that case you need the .da file.  Such disks are operating system disks or OS install disks containing device entries.

Normally you should be able to login to Cromix automatically.  If you get a user prompt try user=system pw=secret

20090209	managed to get Dave Dunfield image disk working for 5.25 inch cromemco disks but its difficult
		a) format 360K disk on a specific A: cromemco drive rotating at 310 rpm
		b) recopy the files onto this newly formatted diskette
		c) make an image of the diskette using IMD.COM  interleave 1:1, tracks 40, DS, single step
		d) On target IBM XT286, specify diskette interleave 1:1
		e) try making an image.  If address mark not found , error try again (a) 
		f) else should make image.  Once image made create back another diskette
		g) take diskette back to cromemco and if a CDOS disk boot it or DIR it.  For cromix
		   boot cromix 168 and check command it.
		COrrection the above does not work reliably! further investigation required

_ at beginning Indicates a bootable disk

Each Diskette line has a unique number and an 8 byte label in this catalog describing the
Logical format that is on the disk
It is optionally prefaced by a physical size modifier if the format does not match the disk size.
In other words Small by default is 5.25 inch diskette and Large is an 8" diskette
However we've found a way to place the 8 inch format on a physical 3.5 inch diskette, in that case label is prefaced with a 3
Disk type&size, number sides, density and tracking.

An underscore _ at the beginning means the disk is bootable
A  3 at the beginning means the disk is physically 3.50 inches in size but the logical format is 8" disk
A  5 at the beginning means the disk is physically 5.25 inches in size but the logical format is 8" disk
If there is no size specifier it means that the disk really is the size it looks like e.g.  CLxxxxxx would be 8" cromix,  ULxxxxxx would be 8" uniform,  SMxxxxxx would be a 5.25" CDOS etcetera.

A star * at the end means the disk is a manufacturer eg. Cromemco original
